ENGINE DAMAGE INSPECTION

Inspection of a severely damaged engine where MSZ delivered a reconditioned crank shaft. This engine was completely overhauled by a local repair shop in Piraeus but unfortunately they didn’t take extreme care during and after overhauling. A critical step they have missed, the correct setting of the fuel injection pumps. One side was 180° off set therefore creating advanced fuel injection at moments it doesn’t needed it. The excessive fuel consumed the oil layer of 8 cylinder liners that should provides lubrication and cooling of those liners. It eventually caused seizure and complete destruction of the engine. This unit had to be replaced by a new one.
